I am running the latest VPN (3.61) with Windows 10 x64.

I have noticed when I stop (quit) TorGuard VPN, my Windows 10 sort of freezes for at least 60 seconds to 90 seconds.  But when I get the "Successfully Disconnected" message the 2nd TIME, everything goes back to normal.

What I mean that "sort of freezes" is that when I try to switch to other programs (running) by clicking on the Taskbar, I cannot choose any of them.  However, it I use the Windows + Tab key, I can successfully switch to any of them, and they are running just fine.   I did not notice that if I switch between each program, and close it, it still remains visible on the task bar.   Once again, as soon as "Successfully Disconnected" message appears the 2nd TIME, everything updates on the taskbar.

Anyone experience this issue?   It's more of a nuisance than a big problem but still I don't remember happening until a few months ago.

Hey :) I also had that same problem, i agree it was more of a nuisance than a problem you basically just have to be patient and wait for it to unfreeze. I format my computer every month so as soon as i noticed the problem i formatted and have not noticed it again. I was also using windows 10 64bit Redstone 1.

I would be connected to Torguard via the windows client everything would be working fine/smooth and then i would disconnect from the VPN server and the taskbar would become unresponsive for around 1 minute then the message would appear saying successfully disconnected and poof everything was back to normal.

I had "explorer.exe" freeze up last week, I did the following to fix(may or may not work for you, worth a shot):

  1. Check that Windows is up to date through Windows Update
  2. Check that your drivers are up to date(Graphics e.t.c)
  3. Disable Aero Peek — Press: Win+R >> Type: SystemPropertiesPerformance.exe >> Uncheck: Enable Peek >> Apply
  4. Run System File Checker — Press: Win+X >> Select Command Prompt (Admin) >> Type: sfc /scannow

Guys would it be possible to allow us to logon and have a quick look via team viewer to see this happening ? we have very few people reporting this problem but would like to know what it is nonetheless.

Cheers

Yes that's fine with me.   How can we arrange for this?

By the way, this is my connection setup:

New Jersey / UDP / AES-128-CBC | SHA1

PreventRTC & Prevent iP6 Leaks turned ON (although I run iP4)

Block outside DNS clicked ON

Direct connection (no proxy)

and I have uTorrent.Exe as the only App Kill

Hello, welcome to the forums.

I could not reproduce this issue with a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro x64bit within my VM.

  • Are your drivers, and windows up to date?
  • Did you install any extra software after you reinstalled windows 10(Antivirus/Firewall, other vpn software e.t.c)?
  • Check to see if your hardware is malfunctioning.
