VPN Service: How to Setup Viscosity VPN on Mac OSx
Setting up TorGuard’s Pro Viscosity VPN Service on any Mac OSx system is actually very simple. Viscosity OpenVPN software provides some of the highest speed performance and VPN features available today. We will walk you through the download and install process on any Mac OSx system step by step. (All clients also have the choice of using TorGuard lite software to connect which also uses OpenVPN and is still as secure).
Step 1:
First, login to the TorGuard client area and go to My Services >> Product Details (Click little Icon to the right) > here you will find in the right-hand sidebar an option to Enable Viscosity . (If you can’t find this just contact our support team to have Viscosity VPN software enabled for you.) Once clicked and enabled click on the home link at the top you will see that the viscosity files are under “Attached Files” – you can download the MAC or Windows version along with the license file as seen in the image below:
Download “VPNCLIENT_mac” and “VPNCLIENT_License” and save both zip files to your Mac.
Step 2:
Next, unzip each file downloaded as seen below and run “VPNCLIENT.dmg”:
Step 3:
Run the Viscosity icon and when asked if you wish to open, select “Open” as seen below:
Step 4:
Once the Viscosity install runs, it will prompt you for the license file that we downloaded in step 1. Click the “Select New License” button and locate the “license.lic” file downloaded in step 1.
Step 5:
Viscosity OpenVPN software is now installed!
How to select VPN servers:
Locate the globe icon on the top right status bar and click to see the full server list. Click the country you wish to connect to.
That is it! You have now setup anonymous VPN service on any Mac OSx system in just a few minutes. After clicking connect on the VPN service, just visit whatismyip.com to double check your connection. When you wish to disconnect from the VPN, simply click the globe icon and click “disconnect”.
