Introducing New BTCPay Checkout for Bitcoin and Litecoin
Paying for a VPN with cryptocurrency is a match made in heaven. Here at TorGuard we are revolutionizing anonymity with a secure and easy to use VPN platform. We want to give back power to the end user and decentralized currencies do just that. With cryptocurrency, you can keep your anonymity on checkout and get started right away. Today we are excited to announce we will start using BTCPay, which we believe is a far superior solution than other cryptocurrency checkout payment processors.
BTCPay is an open-source payment processor based off the Bitpay API but with much needed improvements. The beauty of cryptocurrency is that it is decentralized and not controlled by anyone, but payment processors like Bitpay are. In order to fix this problem, BTCPay gives control of the node back to the host.
With BTCPay, TorGuard can now host our own node and no one can force us to accept alternative versions of Bitcoin. Not only does BTCPay allow freedom from arbitrary business decisions, but we also believe that BTCPay is a great solution and payment processor for TorGuard VPN since it supports things like Segwit (40% lower fee per transaction) and it provides great support for some of the best emerging altcoins like Litecoin.
BTCPay also supports game-changing cryptocurrency implementations like the Lightning Network. While TorGuard currently processes Lighting Network payments manually, we will offer LN payments on checkout through BTCpay very soon.
BTCPay will provide TorGuard VPN users with an even better checkout system to support the evolution and growth of cryptocurrencies. Expect faster, more secure, and easier crypto payments. The best part is that you aren’t sending your money to be held by a third party.
