How To setup a TorGuard HTTP Proxy with FoxyProxy on Firefox

TorGuard’s anonymous proxy service is not just for the avid BitTorrent enthusiast. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how easy it is to set up a TorGuard anonymous proxy with the popular Firefox plugin FoxyProxy.

Foxy Proxy is a very easy and effective way to tunnel Firefox web browsing traffic through an anonymous TorGuard web proxy. This can provide faster browsing speeds than the VPN service and doesn’t require any special VPN software installation.


Visit the FoxyProxy plugin page and download FoxyProxy to your Firefox web browser: here and install it by clicking the "Add to Firefox" button.

After the install, you can access its functions by clicking the little foxy icon in the address bar and then clicking options.

Now click Add where it says "Please click add to start".

Now fill out the HTTP settings to connect to our public HTTP Proxy hostnames located here:

Title: Anything (Optional)
Proxy Type: HTTP
Proxy IP Address or DNS name: (Example, locate all hostnames here)
Username: Your TorGuard Service Username (View or change this here)
Password: Your TorGuard Service Password (Change this here if you have forgot)

Then click Save.

When using a VPN can also fill out the SOCKS settings to connect to our internal SOCKS while connected to the VPN to give you that extra protection if for any reason your VPN disconnects no traffic will pass until the VPN reconnects:

Title: Anything (Optional)
Proxy Type: SOCKS
Proxy IP Address or DNS name: * Check the VPN locations that support internal proxy on our network page first
Port: 9898
Username: Leave Blank
Password: Leave Blank

Slide the option "Send DNS through SOCKS5 proxy" to on.

Now under the menu where it says "Turn Off (Use Firefox Settings)" Select your proxy from the list, in this case, "My TorGuard UK Proxy".

Verify your proxy is indeed connected:

a) Browse to
b) Check the IP Address line states a TorGuard IP and states "Protected".
